Information for Code Subscribers
Apply for membership
Information brokers who wish to become Code Subscribers are required to become members of the Value Added Property Information Broker Association Incorporated (“VAPIBA”), an association incorporated in New South Wales under the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 (NSW).
VAPIBA is the legal entity which receives and manages funds to support the operation and administration of the Code and the activities of the Code Oversight Committee.
Application forms for membership of VAPIBA are available here.
VAPIBA members may then apply to become Code Subscribers by completing the Code Subscriber Application form and executing the Deed of Indemnity.
Membership fees
VAPIBA is entirely funded by its members. As at October 2018, the fees are:
Joining fee $250 Annual membership fee $6,000

Members, as Code Subscribers, may be required to make additional payments as provided for under the Code. Members collectively may need to meet the costs of the Code’s administration if these costs exceed the funds available within VAPIBA. In addition, individual members may be liable for extra charges arising from investigations and other expenses related to complaints specifically involving them.
Access to QVAS Data
The Department of Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing and Regional and Rural Development (DNRMMRR) administers the Queensland Valuation and Sales System (QVAS) database. Information brokers who wish to access QVAS Identified Information must become Code Subscribers.
Before DNRMMRR will approve a licence for value-adding of QVAS data, the department requires the broker to be an approved Code Subscriber. Once approved, the broker should inform DNRMMRR.
